AN: A literal month ago (May 10th), after weeks of missing every single challenge due to either laziness, writer's block, or schoolwork, I was finally able to create this for the community fan_flashworks. It's not my best work imo, as I believe the Emma Frost fic I did for fan_flashworks had a better plot and writing style, but I still like this work; mostly because I am a huge fan of the "badass seemingly cruel guy is a cool father figure to a kid they get under their wing and teach to be as badass as them".

CONTENT NOTES: Spoilers for Curse of the Mutants.
AUTHOR NOTES: Was written for fan_flashworks's challenge #334, "Smoke". I initially was going to make a fanfic of ALIaS that was centric on Jessica Jones, where smoke would be used as in "smoky/cloudy" to describe how Jessica feels about her past as Jewel due to Kilgrave's actions, for this challenge. However, as I was reading some Marvel comics, Wolverine & Jubilee: Curse of the Mutants (2011) was what felt to me to be a better fit for the challenge. Also, I had major writing block with the Jessica Jones fic lmao. Anyways, decided to use the smoke as in "smoke from cigarettes" for this since Wolverine is a smoker and I I'll probably add more to the vampire part because it feels too short.
SUMMARY: "You're a man full of contradictions," Emma Frost says as she looks at Wolverine, "and Jubilee's a girl full of naivety. The worst two combinations of traits to have in a guardian and child duo." (Or, how the strength in Wolverine and Jubilee's father-daughter relationship is both a blessing and a curse.)

( THE THING ABOUT BEING THE SELF-PROCLAIMED FOSTER DAD OF MISFITS... )

AN: This fanfiction was for FanFiction.net user fanofthisfiction's 2021 "Show Me the Love" Challenge that took place back in late January of this year. The theme was flowers, and as one of my 2094761237839104093243 WIP fanfics was of a Bleach fanfic ironically named "Winter Blossoms" due to me combining half of the meanings each of Hinamori and Hitsugaya's first names, I decided that I would finish this fanfic up in time for the challenge. I really recommend joining one of fanofthisfiction's future "Show Me the Love" Challenges as they're very fun to both create and read what other people contributed. I personally liked writing teen!Nemuri and teen!Ichika as I find them adorable (if there wasn't a deadline to this challenge I would of added a teen!Kamui too lol), and Nemuri in particular gets so little content done with her compared to the content I've seen made for Ichika and Kamui. Besides that, fanart with adult!Hinamori with long hair down and adult!Toshiro no longer qualifying as a shrimp has always been some of my favorite types of art to see in the Bleach fandom, so being able to write it is even sweeter.

I hope that you all are able to enjoy this as much as I enjoyed writing it for fanofthisfiction's challenge, and for any HitsuHina fans still on this site that sees this fic, I am happy to contribute to the Hitsuhina content on dreamwidth.
